3D printed molds were produced to allow for the rapid prototyping of seals used for prototyping test strips.

The seals were formed from a dental resin used to take impressions of teeth for the development of crowns and bridges.

The resolution of Formlab’s SLA Form 2 3D printer produced fine details that the resin easily captured – forming macro-sized fluid channels.

The quick production of molds and the fast drying of seals allowed the concept of injection-molded test strip seals to evolve quickly.
